Nana's poem

Created by Claire 11 years ago
Nanna had a heart of gold, she always seemed to amaze, She would do all of the old fashioned stuff, she was so set in her ways. I remember when we were younger; she would see us once a week, She would always bring homemade Coffee cake & bags full of treats. Nanna was full of cuddles; her love was special too, When we did something wrong, she would yell “You silly Cookcoo” She taught us how to knit; she taught us how to sew, Nanna would always play games with us, until she had to go. Grandad knew that Nanna, was getting frail & old, He laid his hands in hers, and took a gentle hold. So when it came the time, for her heart to have a rest, It proved to us down here, that Grandad takes the best. In life we loved her dearly; in death we'll do the same, It still came unexpected, the day Grandad called her name. Nanna you are free from Dementia, you are now out of pain, We will always long for your smile; our lives won’t be the same. When our times get hard, we will know our Nanna is near, We will all place our hands on our hearts, and feel her presence here. Re-united once again with the man that holds her heart, Nanna & Grandad back together, no longer to be apart. So the last words from your Grand-Children are going to be so true, Goodbye our beautiful Nanna, We love and will so dearly miss you xx Claire, Emma, Vanessa, Melissa, Kayleigh, James, Sam, Luke & Layla.
