When we was kids!

Me & Emm's always spent holidays & weekends with you. Some days we would catch the train or we would take a slow walk up your road which seemed to go on for miles to catch a bus! You taught us how to knit, you taught us how to sew, we were always making something.I remember the famous Coffee Cake or the Eccles cakes you used to buy. The sweety cupboard had to be our favourite especially at easter! I think you took shares out in cadbury's creme eggs. During the winter months tho you always used to put a hot water bottle in our bed to warm it up, then we had so many blankets on, boi they were heavy!!! I think I speak for my sister here as well, but I will never miss the way you used to comb our hair, long blonde hair, no brush, just a comb, you took that comb from the scalp to the bottom of our shoulders in one stroke, I actually thought you had ripped my roots out. We can laugh about it now, but at the time there were no words to describe the pain, but as you said we couldn't have knotty hair!!! My favourite sayings of all time is when we did something wrong you would yell " you silly little cookcoo you" or "Don't be daft, Don't" I can still hear them words to this day. There was so much more you did for us, you supported us both when we had children of our own, & that's where you got the name Nanny Chips, You came to visit every week & you brought treats for Nessa, like you used to buy me & Emm, but Ness refered you to the Nanny who brought her Chips because she couldn't pronounce Crisps. 1992-1993 Nanny Chips was born & you kept that name until your final moments here with us. It wasnt long before me & Emm had to share you with everyone, because whoever you met, they didn't refer to you as Ruby, you was called Nanny. You was one in a million Nana, I am so proud that you was our Nana. You may of left this life, but you are now beginning a new journey reunited with Grandad. Memories you have left will be cherished for many many years to come, & I look forward to the day, I can share memories of my Nana with my grand-children. Always in my heart Missing you Claire x x x
